John Freeman Lowery

John Freeman Lowery, 81, of Grapevine Texas, passed away on January 22,2022, from Cardiac Arrest.

The memorial service will be held at April 23 at 11:00am at Gateway Funerals & Cremation at 17390 Preston Road, Suite 310, Dallas, Texas 75252. Brenda Kerkmann will be officiating.

John Lowery was born in St. Lous Missouri on 5/10/1940. When he was a young boy he joined the Cub Scouts at age 9 then at age 11 he became a Boy Scout then at age 14 became an Eagle Scout then went on to become an Explorer Scout.  John graduated from Beaumont High School where he was on the Track Team. Then he went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from St. Louis University. While attending the University he became a Member of the Delta Sigma PI Fraternity, Beta Sigma Chapter. He was also on the University Swim Team. Then went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard for two years.

John Lowery was married to Sharon Pappenfus Lowery on January 25.1969; they were married 49 Years.

John worked for MARC, Inc and started off as an Office Manager in 1968 and worked his way up to a Senior Vice President of Administration and was there for twenty-six years. He then went on to work for Rauscher Pierce Refsnes as a Director of Administration for two years. Then he went to work for Southwest Securities as Director of General Services. He worked there for them for four years. He retired in 2006. Then in his spare time enjoyed Hunting, Fishing especially with Son, Brad and Wife, Sharon. He also enjoyed Reloading Ammunition, Reading, Tennis, Golf, spending time at their property in Hamilton Texas. He also liked Photography and had his own dark room where he did his own printing and enlarging of photographs. He participated in Art shows with Sharon and where he would sell his photographs. 

John is survived by his Son Brad Lowery and son’s Fiancé Charlene Lingo.

John is preceded in death by his Wife Sharon Rae Lowery, Father Freeman John Lowery, Mother Annabelle Hoerr Lowery and Sister Eleanor Ann Lowery.
