Frank Martinez Obituary

Frank C. Martinez, 83, was born September 23rd, 1940, to Lawrence and Mollie Martinez in Denver, Colorado.  He passed peacefully in Denton, Texas on October 26th, 2023, in the presence of his loving wife Virginia, and his sons Angelo and Michael.  UPDATE - DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THE MEMORIAL SERVICE WAS POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE.  IT WILL NOT BE HELD ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH.  AN UPDATE WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS THE NEW SERVICE DATE AND TIME BECOME AVAILABLE.  WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

Frank is survived by his wife Virginia, sons Angelo (Adrina) and Michael (Carolyn).  Frank grew up in his family home in the Curtis Park neighborhood of Denver with six brothers and four sisters.  He married Virginia Marquez on December 20th, 1958. They had three sons, Angelo, Michael, and Darrell.  Frank was looking forward to celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary later this year.  Frank proudly served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division as an infantryman.  He and Virginia were stationed in France and Germany before being relocated back to the US.  He received specialized training while serving our country and joined the General Electric Medical Systems Division upon separation from the Army in 1965.  He had a career spanning over 28 years with GE serving various leadership roles in Colorado, California, Wisconsin, Florida, and Texas.  He traveled extensively while leading the Sales and Service Division for Latin America.  He always had great stories about the challenges of international travel in the 1970s and ‘80’s.

Frank was a lifelong fan of the Denver Broncos.  He held season tickets in the 1970’s and celebrated each of their Super Bowl championships with his friends and family.  Frank was an avid fisherman, loved camping, and spending time outdoors with his compadres, sons, and grandchildren.  He enjoyed spending time with each of his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren at sporting events, family celebrations and graduation ceremonies.  He was proud of all their academic, athletic, and working world accomplishments. Frank was a generous man, sharing freely with anyone in need.  He opened his home for family multiple times throughout his life, providing support and comfort as they worked through their life’s challenges.  For his giving ways, he was loved and respected by his friends and family.  He will be greatly missed.
